In our effort to provide our customers with high-quality drinking water, the Village of Lake Delton maintains a water main flushing program every Spring and Fall. The Village will post a notice in the Dells Events and on our online calendar for the scheduled dates (Monday through Friday) and times (12:30 am to 8 am).
During flushing the Village will be systematically opening and closing of hydrants, one section of main at a time, to force the water through the pipes at high velocity, removing accumulated mineral sediment until the water is clear.
- During this period of flushing some customers may experience some rusty water.
- This rusty condition will correct itself if the cold tap nearest the water meter is allowed to run until the water runs clear.
- Rusty water will discolor clothes that are washed or rinsed in it.
We ask that you refrain from washing clothes during the scheduled hours.
Since Flushing of the main is a necessary precaution with our water system, we earnestly solicit your cooperation during this period of inconvenience
