The Wisconsin Dells Parkway (US Hwy. 12) is a federal highway which is getting reconstructed beginning in 2026. Some work could actually start as early as December (2025) if the weather cooperates. This three year project is scheduled to work around the Dells areas summer season so traffic can keep flowing, but they cannot guarantee this project will be free of any traffic issues.
The proposed improvements include a 5-lane roadway with two lanes in each direction separated by a Two-Way Left-Turn Lane (TWLTL) in the median between County A and E. Adams Street. The roadway pavement, curb and gutter would be replaced as part of the project, signals and pedestrian crossings upgraded, and a shared use path constructed on the west side of the road between County A and Olympus Road.
